McGovern Surveyors was established in 1991 to provide a wide-range of property and construction-related services. We can help you with Structural Surveys, Schedules of Condition/Dilapidations, Land Surveying and Architectural Services. We now employ 12 people of which 5 are Chartered Building Surveyors. We value our staff, our most important asset, some of which are with the firm for many years.

Pat McGovern BSc FSCS FRICS
Managing Director, Chartered Building Surveyor
Pat returned from London and set up in private practice in 1991. Pat's expertise is in the professional services area including commercial, retail, industrial, and residential surveys.
Pat is actively involved with the Society of Chartered Surveyors and is an APC assessor for the SCS Building Surveying Division. He is also a representative on SCS QS committee and is one of the SCS representative on the IIS Forum for Boundary Reform. He lectured for 9 years part time in building pathology at Dundalk Institute of Technology. He has provided expert evidence on construction defects and disputes.

Brian Duffy BSc (Hons) ASCS
Associate, Chartered Building Surveyor
Brian Duffy joined the firm in 1997 having previously worked with Cooney & Company Architects. Brian specialises in structural surveys and building defect diagnosis and analysis. Brian heads up the residential surveying section of the firm and is practice manager in the Navan office. He has been involved in a wide range of survey types including structural surveys, insurance reinstatement valuations and claims, snagging and pre-demolition schedules of condition. Brian’s strengths lie mainly in the diagnosis and analysis of building defects

Seamus Mulligan BSc ASCS SCS Accredited Conservation Surveyor (Grade 3)
Associate, Chartered Building Surveyor
Seamus joined the practice in 1999. He was previously employed by Thornton Surveyors. Seamus specialises in industrial, commercial, and retail property inspections. He also has considerable experience in the preparation and negotiation of schedules of dilapidations, acting on behalf of both Landlords and Tenants, whilst also having extensive knowledge insurance reinstatement valuations and in the diagnosis and repair of building defects. Seamus is also an SCS Accredited Conservation Surveyor.

Ciaran Byrd BSc ASCS
Chartered Building Surveyor
Ciaran joined the firm in 2001 direct from college. He has been involved in a wide range of building survey types including structural Surveys, insurance reinstatement valuations and claims, snagging and pre-demolition schedules of condition. Ciaran’s strengths lie mainly in the diagnosis and analysis of building defects.

Kevin Hollingsworth BSc (Hons) MRICS ASCS Cert CII
Chartered Building Surveyor
Kevin joined the firm in 2008 having previously worked as a Building Surveyor with Cassidy & Ashton, previously he worked with Atkins and Cunningham Lindsey as a building surveyor. During his time in the UK he worked on both commercial and residential projects for private and public clients. He has been involved in a wide range of building survey types and Project Management including the role of PSDP. Kevin is also qualified as a non-domestic building energy rating (BER) assessor. Kevin is actively involved with the Society of Chartered Surveyors and is an APC assessor for the SCS Building Surveying Division and a representative on SCS’s promotion committee.

Peter Rogers
Building Surveyor
Peter joined the practice direct from college in 2004. Since joining the team, Peter has been involved in a wide range of surveying duties including condition reports, snag lists, land surveying, and measured building surveys. Peter is currently preparing for this APC assessment with the society of Chartered Surveyors and hopes to Charter this Autumn.

Danny O'Brien BSc
Land Surveyor
Danny joined the firm in early 2003 and was previously employed as a Senior Land Surveyor/Project Manager in an Aerial Photography company, who specialised in all elements of Cartography and Land Surveying. Danny has considerable experience in all elements of Land Surveying dealing specifically with Boundary Disputes acting as an expert witness and has given evidence in court up to and including The High Court. Danny is committed to improving the range of services, which McGovern Surveyors can offer their clients, through the successful completion of the C3 FETAC Confined Space - Working In Confined Spaces-Safe Working Practice and FAS CSCS Location of Under Ground Services courses.

Noel Clarke
Trainee Building Surveyor
Noel joined the practice direct from college, and is currently in the process of becoming chartered with the SCS. Noel is involved in a wide range of surveying duties including condition reports, snag lists, land surveying, measured building surveys, and planning. Noel also has training for confined spaces, and breathing apparatus equipment.

Joanne joined the practice in 2005 having previously worked with Jarlath Rattigan Design & Project Management. Joanne has gained vast experience and knowledge in the field of preparing measured surveys and assisting in land surveying projects.

Breege Conneely
Office/Practice Manager
Breege joined the company in 2005 as Office/Practice Manager, having worked previously with Fujitsu Services and over 12 years in the United States. Breege is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the business.

Edel Gray
General Administration
Edel joined the firm in August 2004 as Junior Administrator/Typist following the completion of a Post Leaving Certificate NCVA Level II Business Administration with Reception Skills Course in 2004. Edel briefly worked in the Planning and Personnel Departments with Meath County Council.
