Pat McGovern
Managing Director

BSc FSCSI FRICS Chartered Building Surveyor

Pat returned from London in 1991 and set up in private practice in Dublin. Pat’s expertise is in the area of professional services and in particular due diligence surveys of commercial buildings and schedules of dilapidations. Pat is actively involved in the Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland as an APC Assessor and was chairman of the Building Surveying Practice Group for the 2011/2012 season. He also lectured for 9 years part time in Building Pathology in Dundalk Institute of Technology. Pat’s time is now spent managing a very busy practice with particular attention to customer care and quality.

Andrew Ramsey
Director

BSc (Hons.) Building Surveying MSCSI MRICS

Andrew is a Chartered Building Surveyor, a Chartered Project Management Surveyor and SCSI Accredited Conservation Surveyor Grade III. He is the current Chairman for the Building Surveying Professional Group, a member of the Finance Committee and Council Member of the Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland (SCSI). He is also part of the editorial for the Surveyors Journal. Graduating from Dundalk Institute of Technology in 2004 he successfully completed his assessment of professional competency in 2006 becoming a Chartered Building Surveyor. His experience developed within commercial property surveying (dilapidations and pre-acquisition surveying) and project services, completing a large variety of construction monitoring instructions for lending institutions along with refurbishment projects, and landlord and tenant dilapidations cases. Andrews main focus within the company is commercial surveying having gained significant post Chartership experience in completing and managing a number of significant portfolio instructions for international clients throughout Ireland, the UK and Continental Europe. Andrew is a very experienced and committed Chartered Building Surveyor with extensive surveying experience in the public and private sector.

Brian Duffy
Associate

BSc. (Hons.) Building Surveying MSCSI MRICS

Brian joined the firm in 1997 having previously worked with Cooney & Company Architects, gaining experience in measured surveys, planning applications, fire safety certificate applications, preparation of specifications and schedule of works. Brian specialises in building surveys and building defect diagnosis and analysis. Brian heads up the residential surveying section of the firm. He has been involved in a wide range of survey types on both residential and commercial properties including building surveys, defect analysis, snagging inspections and pre-demolition schedules of condition. Brian’s strengths lie mainly in the diagnosis and analysis of building defects.

Barry Hughes

BSc (Hons.) Building Surveying MSCSI MRICS

Barry is a Chartered Building Surveyor, who joined the practice in 2012. Graduating from Dundalk Institute of Technology in 2012 he successfully completed his assessment of professional competency in 2015 becoming a Chartered Building Surveyor. He has experience in a wide range of Building Surveying duties, including commercial and residential building surveys, defect analysis, condition surveys, building investment funds and reinstatement cost assessment surveys. He previously worked with Emmet Humphreys Architects and OBK Architects, working on a range of projects from small scale residential to large scale commercial developments.

Shane Hynes

BSc (Hons.) Building Surveying MSCSI MRICS

Shane joined the company in September 2013 with over ten year’s previous experience in the construction industry at management level where he gained an in-depth knowledge of building pathology. Shane is primarily involved in the commercial sector and predominantly contract administration which includes overseeing compliance works for multi-million euro projects prior to sale, from the initial vendor’s survey to practical completion. He also provides advice on Reinstatement Costs Assessments, Building Investment Fund Analysis with Planned Preventative Maintenance Schedules, Defect Analysis Reports, Specification Writing and Schedule of Conditions. Shane is an active member of the SCSI and holds a bachelor degree in Building Surveying and Manufacturing Engineering with Business Studies.

Ciarán Gorham

BSc (Hons.) Building Surveying

Ciarán joined us in June 2013 after completing a BSc (Hons) in Building Surveying and with over ten year’s previous experience in the construction industry. Since joining the company, Ciarán has been involved in a wide range of Building Surveying duties, including commercial and residential building surveys, schedule of condition reports, reinstatement cost assessments, defect analysis, land registry mapping and measured surveys. In addition Ciarán is a registered BER Assessor with SEAI for domestic buildings. Ciarán is an active member of the SCSI, and is currently the Building Surveyors representative on the Young Members Committee of the SCSI.

James McManus

BSc (Hons.) Building Surveying

James is a Trainee Building Surveyor who joined the practice in 2014 after completing his Building Surveying Degree in Dundalk Institute of Technology. He has experience in a wide range of Building Surveying duties, including contract administration of projects, professional services, commercial and residential surveys and measurement building surveys. James is a member of The Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland and is currently working towards obtaining his chartered accreditation.

Nicky Mackin

BSc (Hons.) Building Surveying

Nicky is a graduate building surveyor who joined the company in July 2015 after completing a B.Sc. (Hons) in Building Surveying in Dundalk Institute of Technology. Prior to completing his degree Nicky worked as a Senior Land Surveyor with McDonald Surveys for over 7 years. Nicky’s duties since joining the company have primarily involved the completion of measured building surveys, topographic surveys, area measurement surveys as well as the preparation of land registry mapping. He is also currently undertaking his APC for membership of the Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland (SCSI).

Tom Aspell

BSc (Hons.) Building Surveying

Tom joined our team in February 2017 as a Building Surveyor after returning home from New Zealand. Tom has over fifteen years experience in the construction industry. He graduated from Liverpool John Moore’s University in 2010 and has experience in a wide range of Building Surveying duties, including commercial and residential building surveys, measurement surveys, condition surveys and dilapidations. He previously worked with J. Murphy & Sons and M-Survey in the UK, F. Bradley Chartered Surveyors and The OPW in Ireland and more recently with Christchurch City Council in New Zealand. Tom is a graduate member of The Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland and is currently working towards obtaining his chartered accreditation.

Breege Conneely

Accounts Manager

Breege joined the practice in 2005 having worked previously with Fujitsu Services and over 12 years in the United States for a private investment company. Breege works part time in the accounting department.

Gail Reynolds

Office Manager

Gail joined the company in October 2016 as Office Manager. She has experience in the industry having worked with Building Surveying Companies in the past. Gail is based in our Dublin office with responsibility for the administration of our commercial surveys.
