Pat McGovern
Managing Director

BSc FSCSI FRICS Chartered Building Surveyor

Pat returned from London in 1991 and set up in private practice in Dublin. Pat’s expertise is in the area of professional services and in particular due diligence surveys of commercial buildings and schedules of dilapidations. Pat is actively involved in the Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland as an APC Assessor and was chairman of the Building Surveying Practice Group for the 2011/2012 season. He also lectured for 9 years part time in Building Pathology in Dundalk Institute of Technology. Pat’s time is now spent managing a very busy practice with particular attention to customer care and quality. Pat is a keen cyclist and runner turned walker having to accept that his joints could not keep up with his mid-life crises any longer.

Brian Duffy
Associate

BSc (Hons.) MSCSI MRICS Chartered Building Surveyor

Brian joined the firm in 1997 having previously worked with Cooney & Company Architects. Brian specialises in building surveys and building defect diagnosis and analysis. Brian heads up the residential surveying section of the firm. He has been involved in a wide range of survey types on both residential and commercial properties including building surveys, defect analysis, snagging inspections and pre-demolition schedules of condition. Brian’s strengths lie mainly in the diagnosis and analysis of building defects of the older property types and protected structures. Brian is a keen follower of Tennis and Rugby. He also enjoys alternative music, squash and running.

Tom Aspell

BSc (Hons.) MSCSI MRICS Chartered Building Surveyor

Tom is a Chartered Surveyor who joined our team in February 2017 after returning home from New Zealand. Tom has over twenty years experience in the construction industry. He graduated from Liverpool John Moore’s University in 2010 and has experience in a wide range of Building Surveying duties, particularly in the commercial sector. These include undertaking technical due diligence and vendor surveys, measurement surveys, condition surveys, dilapidation surveys and negotiations, and reinstatement cost assessments. He previously worked with J. Murphy & Sons and M-Survey in the UK, F. Bradley Chartered Surveyors and The OPW in Ireland and with Christchurch City Council in New Zealand.

Lorcan Daly

BSc (Hons.) Building Surveying

Lorcan joined McGovern Surveyors in September 2019 having worked for over three years with KRA Visionary Project Partners He graduated from Dundalk Institute of Technology in 2013 with a B.Sc. (Hons.) in Building Surveying and has a broad range of commercial surveying experience including project management, dilapidations, due diligence surveys, planning applications, legal mapping and area measurement surveys. Lorcan is currently enrolled in the Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) process and is working towards obtaining his chartered accreditation. Lorcan’ s interests include running & fitness, motorsports and general outdoor activities. He recently joined his local sailing club but doesn’t always manage to keep his head above water!

Darragh Kelly

BSc (Hons.) Building Surveying

Darragh joined McGovern Surveyors in June 2021 having just recently graduated from Dundalk Institute of Technology in May with a B.Sc. (Hons.) in Building Surveying. In his time here he has gained a broad range of surveying experience including building surveys, measurement surveys, condition surveys, project management, dilapidations, and legal mapping. Darragh is currently enrolled in the Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) process and is working towards obtaining his chartered accreditation. Darragh’s interests include golf and football and he is a keen follower of most sports.

Breege Conneely

Accounts Manager

Breege joined the practice in 2005 having worked previously with Fujitsu Services and over 12 years in the United States for a private investment company. Breege works part time in the accounting department.

Gail Reynolds

Office Manager

Gail joined the company in October 2016 as Office Manager. She has experience in the industry having worked with Building Surveying Companies in the past. Gail is based in our Dublin office with responsibility for the administration of our residential and commercial files. When Gail is not in the office, she likes to do Pilates and Yoga. She is also hoping to start running, so she can finally put an office bet to rest!
