Assigned Certifier Role

In Ireland, there have been a series of cases of poor construction standards which has led to a deficient building stock and demonstrated the need for significant improvements in the building control system. Legislation, which came into force on March 1, 2014, requires clients to appoint an Assigned Certifier to oversee the design, construction, and final certification of a wide range of building works.

McGovern Surveyors, Chartered and Registered Building Surveyors, are among the professionals designated to carry out this new role. We have a broad range of experience in this role and have acted as the Assigned Certifier on various projects. Our duties in this role include providing all relevant statutory certificates and conducting site inspections during the project to ensure compliance.
